Good & not so good news..

Good news first..

It’s been a while since our last blog entry. Almost a year, to be exact. A lot has happened in that time. Curl-ish has literally exploded. We can hardly put into words how overwhelmed we are by the huge demand. Unbelievable. Unfortunately, the great demand also has a catch and our Curlys had to wait months for their appointment.

Grow & Flow

To be able to better meet the great demand and ensure that our Curlys no longer have to wait so long for an appointment, we reached another milestone in December 2019 and added our first employee to the Dream Team. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Das Mädchen im Donut..
Her name is Sara and she is 19 years old. Her mother is from Finland and her father is African-American. She has always been interested in hair and that’s why she completed the federal training as a hairdresser. At Curl-ish she has now discovered her passion. The passion for curls. Also for her own ❤ She herself is currently in the transitioning phase from straight to curly hair, and Curl-ish has given her a big boost of curly self-confidence. In the beginning, she couldn’t do much herself and had to learn a few things that aren’t taught in traditional hairdressing school. Namely, how to handle curls. Hanna, the Curly pro, took her under her wing and Sara stood next to her for hours listening to the conversations, following the movements while cutting, and studying the procedures. She absorbed everything like a sponge. Then the time came when she could take over the styling. The next step was to practice on models. Volunteers were sought and found, and Sara did a great job. Practice makes perfection, as the saying goes. Now she was supposed to attend the DevaCut course at the Deva Academy in New York in mid-April, but unfortunately COVID did not make it possible. The course was canceled and postponed indefinitely. Let’s hope that she will be able to attend the course in the fall.

.. now the not so good news..

The confounded COVID and the resulting regulation from the federal government has affected many people, unfortunately us as well.

Our store will probably be closed until April 26, 2020. Unfortunately, due to the forced closure we had to cancel many appointments. It is important to us that the people who are affected do not have to wait too long for their new appointment. We already have a few ideas and will get back to those soon. We try to stay positive and hope that the spook will end soon and we can all go back to our daily lives.

Back to good news..

Many people ask us how they can support us during this difficult time. You can buy vouchers. A voucher for your next visit. A voucher for your sister, your mother, your grandma, your best friend, your neighbor. Giving a gift gives pleasure. If you want to buy a voucher, please send us an email to office@curlish.ch and we will be happy to help you.

Thank you!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the wonderful encounters and Curly life stories at Curl-ish. Some of them have inspired us. Some we could inspire. All of them touched us and encouraged us to take the right step with a lot of courage. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
